Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
WEBINAR: September 22, 2026, 10:00AM - 11:00AM PT
The next Talking Freight webinar explores the results of the FHWA Global Benchmarking Program on Countermeasures for Preventing Bridge & Tunnel Strikes from Oversized Vehicles: A Review of Best Practices in Ireland, the Netherlands, and United Kingdom.
Bridge strikes are one of the leading causes of damage to bridges, causing safety concerns and disruption to traffic. This webinar identifies and evaluates proven countermeasures, practices, and technologies, provides an understanding of effective mechanisms used to deploy these strategies, identifies better data collection and connection frameworks to aid in decision-making, and discusses how to bring this information to the U.S. to advance the state-of-practice.
Also addressed are key changes, emerging trends, and actionable recommendations to support transportation infrastructure owner-operators, state DOTs, and land use planners.
